Sushi, frisbee and emotional distress

I threw the frisbee in the snow with my aunt and cousin today. Big, big points for them.
It was snowing, but it didn't seem real. Last winter in Colorado has severly impaired my winter judgment.
The sushi tonight was ok. I think that's my first foray into the real world of sushi. Like I said, it's fine, but
I wouldn't buy it. Not like I'd buy green olives. Now that's an exotic snack.
Movies watched today: Life as a house and Down to you
Reactions to movies: wet eyes, mixed, and the aforementioned emotional distress.
Julia and Freddie, don't ever do that to me again. (the acting or the storyline)

Tomorrow looks to be an exciting day. Tune in next week to find out about
flying and Broadway.
In case this is goodbye- I love you. I miss you. Give my body to science and my hair to Julie

Thing not cool about "The East Coast": It takes 6+ hours to drive 250 miles. What's with that?

Thing cool about "The East Coast": I get to spend Thanksgiving with family

Open letter to the trendsetters/hip/cool

Dear Sir or Madam:
I would first like to say that I admire your work. Save a few exceptions (leggings, tight-rolled jeans, etc.) your fashion sense has been fabulous, or fab-O-lus as I sometimes like to say. I especially like what you've done with black.
I am writing because I have a request. Could you please make high school letter jackets cool for the 20+ crowd? This would certainly make me feel better about the most expensive article of clothing I own. It's time we all got a little more use out of our leather-sleeved, name-tagged, personal accomplishment list. As an aside, I should mention that I'm certainly not opposed to people adding new patches of accomplishments to this pending fashion trend. So if say someone wants an "Employee of the Month" patch or a "J-school Grad" patch I would be all for it. Then again this sort of thing may be better left to people like you.
It would really mean a lot to me if I could slip that jacket of mine back on in the name of "cool". It's been 6 years since I've been able to wear the thing in public. You don't have to go all out here; this could be one of those trends that barely registers in most people's conciousness--like a "Fonz" jacket resurgence, rather than say a Regis Philbin clothing line.
The main benefits of a fashion coup of this nature in my humble opinion are:
1. Nostalgia. Twenty somethings love that sort of thing.
2. Recycled trends always get the best media coverage
3. It's already taking up space in the closet, why not wear it?
4. It'd be cool, because you say "it's cool."
I've presented my case to you. Now I beg you to take up this cause. Not only can you use your powers of cool to make the world a better place, but this is your chance to save a lot of those artificial animals that are sacrificed to make the artificial leather sleeves. It's the artificially humane thing to do.
Oh, and if you have some spare time could you bring swing dancing back "in" for another run. Thanks.
Sincerely,
David

I plan to enact the constructive criticism supplied by Chris, but not until I eat loads of Turkey and stuffing.

Work was a lot like work today. It made my eyes hurt.

I went to Target last night. When did Target become so cool? Everything they sell is pastel or matte or shiny. I found myself desiring things like trash cans, mugs, plates, furniture... I do not normally desire these things. They also had a gift basket for every addict you know. Coffee addict? 12 tasty ways. Sausage addict? Done. Chocolate addict? I'll say. Olive addict? 3 different kinds all packaged together. Martinis? Why, yes. That's the one that really threw me. In my mind Target does not equal martinis. In fact there is no chain store save perhaps "Liquor Store" that I think of when I think of martinis.

Go away. And have a Happy Thanksgiving.

Work was awesome today. At least as awesome as Tax Aide data entry can get I think. It's not all data entry see, we're mixin' it up with proofreading and the like. There was problem solving and successful proofreading and all kinds of great stuff going on.
If you check out the comments from this morning, you'll see that Kristin's mom likes what she sees. My dad on the other hand wants more graphics.
The final note is that I have a limp.
    Decide which applies:
  1. I fit in at the AARP
  2. I'd fit in at a Pimp's Convention
  3. I should fit in a visit to the doctor
I've been blogging for one week now. How did I ever survive before I could publish my thoughts for the world to see?
Now for some things that make me smile.
1. The smell of crisp winter air
2. Flying Discs
3. Bundled burger meals
4. and twins

To give you an idea of the kind of Ultimate I play on Sundays: I got heckled today for making the "responsible throw". That's got to be good for my decision-making skills.
What's your FLAVA? Tell me, what's your FLAVA?
An eventful 12 hours or so: I have agreed to be a groomsman in the ever popular fairy tale Matt and Kim wedding. Very exciting.
Due to a little help I was able to do every trick listed for Footbag on California Games. WHOA! That's a week-maker folks. We are talking about the illusive Doda and Reverse Doda. For years now I've wondered what the heck a doda was and how I could score the big points. Now we know. It's glorious really. Some people have accused me of being a little inhuman or hard hearted, but if you could've seen the glee, the sheer joy the moment that I looked down that red list and saw not a single zero, you would know that my heart is alive. I'm also very excited about the other stuff. Really. I am. Especially if there will be top hats.

This is a test. This is only a test. In the event of a real emergency, I won't use a Blog. Really. What kind of fool do you think I am? Maybe I would use a blog if I was trapped in a deserted office building and I'd managed to tape a computer together. Then because I was afraid that even changing web sites was just too much for my makeshift PC to handle, I'd send out little blog postings saying "help. I'm trapped in an office building. I've had to tape together a computer and I'm surviving on the remnants of a vending machine. Please contact the authorities and notify them of my whereabouts. I'd leave but the elevators are shut down and no one takes the stairs. Please save me." Then I'd publish and wait. Sitting all alone eating old Snickers bars and hanging on to the hope that someone somewhere would heed my cry and get me out of here. This has been a test.

I don't know how to get rid of that line after "your thoughts?" Your thoughts?
I just want to connect with my people. A to the Kasper if you're reading this you should email me because I don't have your address. Plus I wanted to up your blog mention totals. You're famous! Good night all.
Anyone can make data entry feel just like:
a)a parade
b)a techno dance club--called discotheques in France.
c)a herioc/epic tale much like Star Wars
It just takes the right sound track.

The thrill of work lasted at least until lunch. Now, it's work. I enter data. That's what I do. For 7 hours. I like the feel of an office though. I like feeling like I'm part of something. I can't believe I'm at my computer after spending all day on one.

I think Blogs make me think even more in aphorisms. At moments I really like that.
Here are the last 4 things that I wanted to cry about, but didn't.
1.Rory's "don't hate me" speech to Dean
2.Reading an old 2000ish Nicole Kidman interview.
3.The ending when things sort of worked out in ED's favor.
4. A letter from my good friend Aaron -he sounded sad and I miss him.

And now for one of the loneliest places I've ever been:
A crowded Metro in the morning!

Later we'll do things that make me smile.

Tuesday, November 19, 2002

I'm going to work tomorrow!! The AARP needs data entry. I can enter data. Who says the AARP isn't glamorous?
Meanwhile, I don't know about this thing. I went to bed more worried about libel than I've been since J-school.

And now TOP 5 THINGS about going to work:
5. I have a reason to bathe.
4. Chicks dig the AARP.
3. Maybe I'll run into M.J. on the Metro.
2. Data Entry spelled backwards is Yrtne Atad
1. Now I can buy twice as much mystery meat.
ahem. Is this thing on?

What A to the Kasper wants...
On this slightly chilly day in November David opens "Dotopia" That's -DO topia-to the world of one. The rest of the world will be invited to this Dotopian realm soon enough. Dotopian--trying to achieve the perfect state of activity.
