Is there a lesson in that?
Mean Girls wasn't very good. Saved! wasn't very good. They both were teen comedies. They both had a moral that boiled down to "Can't we all get along". Mean had Lindsay Lohan. Saved! had Mandy Moore. I no longer like Mandy Moore. I still like Lindsay Lohan. Saved! dealt with teen pregnancy the way most people deal with pimples. Mean dealt with anthropology, sort of.

All of that to tell you that I liked Saved! better. Not because it was good to see the elder Culkin kid working either. Saved! didn't try to be more. It didn't suggest that it had greatness inside, that it could be funnier, more moving, or in anyway better. It was what it was.

Glossing over the teen pregnancy thing did bother me a bit though...
